MSZL&M is pleased to announce that the President of the Florida Bar recently appointed Ela M. Hernandez to serve on the 2020-2021 Civil Procedure Rules Committee and re-appointed her to serve on the Leadership Academy Committee. The scope and function of the Civil Procedure Rules Committee is to carry out the mandate of Rule 2.140 of the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, concerning the proposal of new rules of procedure and changes to existing rules.
The Leadership Academy Committee is charged with overseeing the activities of The Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. The mission of the Leadership Academy is to enhance the skills of a diverse and inclusive group of lawyers selected from across the state so they may become effective leaders throughout the Bar and greater community.
Ela is an associate at firm’s Southern Florida office where she represents a broad range of clients including insurance carriers, insureds and self-insured entities in a variety of litigated matters including premises and professional liability, coverage disputes, and construction defect amongst others.
