Neely Fortinberry has been practicing law for over 25 years and has been a civil litigator since 2002. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney for Tarrant County where she prosecuted and tried violent felony offenders. She then transitioned to the civil sector where she worked for years as in-house counsel for one of the largest national insurance companies defending personal injury claims. Neely then partnered with Dallas based law firms handling a variety of cases, including product liability, premise liability, construction litigation, medical/dental malpractice, toxic tort, transportation and trucking, along with business and contract disputes.
Neely has tried over 190 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts. She has been a frequent lecturer in the insurance industry and has provided litigation updates to her peers regarding ethics in litigation and tort reform.
Of Neely’s most recent courtroom victories, she obtained a zero verdict in Dallas County last year on a $2 Million personal injury case involving a national ride-share company.
In addition to her trial expertise, she is a Certified Mediator and has been recognized by her peers as a “Top Attorney in Personal Injury Defense and Civil Litigation” (as seen in Ft. Worth, Texas magazine “Top Attorney” editions for 2009-2019. Neely was also recognized by Texas Monthly as a 2011 Texas Monthly “Rising Star” in civil litigation, an honor reserved for 2.5 percent of lawyers under 40 years old. Neely has also had the distinction of being nominated by the Supreme Court of Texas to serve on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.
